The Place for Meat (“Makom Shel Basar”) is located on Shabazi Street, at the eastern entrance to the pretty neighborhood of Neve Tzedek. Set in a charming old-world building faced with Jerusalem stone, this was one of the first houses built there. The restaurant’s name reveals everything – it’s the place for discerning carnivores.
There’s a meat-aging room plus a butcher’s room in the restaurant - assurance that every cut of meat served at the restaurant has been professionally handled. As well as the magnificent meat, Meat Place offers an excellent, varied wine-list (the wine is stored in a special steel refrigerator).
From the restaurant’s windows, you can see the brand-new soaring apartment towers, while from the balconies diners have a fine view of the red-tile roofs of old Neve Tzedek, and the visitors wandering its quaint alleyways. Inside, the restaurant space has been classically designed, providing a warm and welcoming ambience.
After your meal, you can relax on the long sofa until you’re ready to leave.
Features soon to be added to the restaurant are a private room and a gallery, to be used for private events and celebrations every day of the week, for up to 30 guests.
